OVERVIEW
ABOUT TRIGGER POINT INJECTIONS
Trigger point injections are perfect for knots that simply won’t go away. You know, that hard, sore, parked in a shoulder or low back like a rock. There are people who have a stinging sensation whenever they glance over their shoulder. Others feel an ache which simply persists for a full day in spite of what they do. Heat, stretching, even massage are great for a second or a moment, then the ache is once again there. Reality is that those knots can affect sleeping, posture, and even simple tasks like how a purse is held. Injections are given in an effort to break up that cycle. A thin-needled injection is directly administered into a knot in a tiny amount of medicine. That muscle might shudder or might unlock. Sometimes there are immediate results; other times it unfolds over a few days. To obtain results which last longer, injections are usually accompanied by therapy or exercises so a muscle doesn’t drop right back into a tight cycle.

One injection is rarely enough. A lot of the time patients need a series, spread over weeks. That steady spacing gives the muscle a chance to stay relaxed.
DIAGNOSE
EXAM & IMAGING
Your first visit is an exam. The therapist feels for knots, checks your movement, and decides if injections are the right choice.
TREATMENTS
CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM
The injection itself is quick. A thin needle, a small dose of medication, and the knot starts to release. For some it’s instant, for others the relief comes slower.

Office was very welcoming from the moment you walked into the office, Marissa and Kelsey were there to greet me. They know all of their patients and treat them like family. Dr. Dault was AMAZING. SHE listened and really searched to find the answers to my pain. Eric was very thorough when doing my ultrasound to diagnose my issue. Their recommendations helped me and in the end my pain decreased! Thank you to the entire team!

I was in a pretty dark place before starting at the Chandler location. My low back pain was completely debilitating and affecting the quality of my life for many years. I saw Phil once a week for 6 weeks and feel stronger and more confident than I have in many, many years. Phil explained the results of my MRI in great detail and answered my questions (as trivial as they might have been) with respect and understanding... I have been to many physical therapists before and the results I got here were the best. I highly recommend the Chandler location and will go back again if I ever need to!

Where do I start with the praise for this Team of miracle workers... I had suffered from chronic lower back pain for the last 8 years due to 32 years of golf and upper back pain due to 13 years of sitting at a desk. I utilized a chiropractor for the past 7 years but the pain ALWAYS came back and I NEVER got better. One visit with Dr. Josh and two X-rays showed the problem was stemming from my foot and a collapsing arch—which my previous chiropractor NEVER took the time to explore and diagnose.

Answering Your Questions
How many injections will I need?
Depends. Some knots ease up after one or two sessions, but a lot of patients need more. At Chandler, the plan is adjusted based on how your body responds, not a fixed number.
Where do trigger points usually show up?
Everywhere. Shoulders, back, and neck are the most common. At the Chandler clinic, patients also report knots in the hips and thighs that make walking or standing tougher than it should be.
What does the injection feel like?
Most people say it’s just a quick pinch. Some notice mild soreness after, like a workout ache, but it fades. The relief usually outweighs the short discomfort.
How soon will I feel better?
Some feel lighter as soon as the muscle relaxes. Others notice a change after a day or two as the soreness fades. Results last longer when therapy or home exercises are added in.
Is this safe for older adults?
Yes. The procedure uses a fine needle and a very small dose of medication. Extra care is taken to keep it safe, even for seniors with other health conditions.
"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."
