Dr. Benjamin Hill graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters degree in physical therapy in 2003 and later finished a clinical doctorate in 2006. He became board certified in orthopedics in 2009, is certified in vestibular and concussion management, and began using dry needling or Western acupuncture in his practice in 2016.
Dr. Hill has directed several clinics over the years, been a group director of seven clinics, and owned his own clinic for eight years. He merged with Modern Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in 2021 incorporating on-site ultrasound diagnostics and on-site non-surgical medical interventions.
Dr. Hill is happily married, and has five children and one grandson. He enjoys the outdoors, cooking, providing church and community service, and doing just about anything with his kids!
Originally, Ryan is from a small town in South Dakota with a population of 200. He was involved in a lot of activities growing up, including sports which help decide his career path in physical therapy. Attending college at the University of Nebraska, he completed an athletic training program (top five in the nation) and became passionate with helping people, overcome physical obstacles and limitations. Shortly after undergrad, Ryan moved to Arizona to pursue physical therapy school at A.T. Still University in Mesa. Over the course of his career he has worked with numerous orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine doctors, and active patients that benefitted from our services. He recently became a father to a baby girl, built a home, and married his beautiful wife.
Natalie graduated, as a Physical Therapist Assistant, from PIMA Medical Institute in 2014 and has a strong background in dance and fitness that have both shaped her approach to health and wellbeing. For over three decades, she has called Arizona home, where her husband and she have raised their family. Natalie’s dance training has given her an excellent understanding of the importance of having fluid, functional movements that are necessary to promote strength, balance, and mobility. She has worked with patients across a wide spectrum of needs, from postsurgical recovery to chronic pain management. Her goal is to help individuals regain confidence in their bodies and return to the activities they love—whether that’s walking without pain or dancing again.
Mike has been a PTA for over 32 years in a variety of settings. He enjoys bowling, golfing, cooking and is a huge Cleveland sports fan. Mike feels good being able to help patients be able to improve their quality of life through their therapies to return to the activities they enjoy!
Noelle relocated to Arizona from New Jersey as a teenager and has called it home ever since. With a long-standing background as both a swim teacher and coach, she is deeply passionate about the role swimming plays in a child’s development—physically, emotionally, and socially. She has been part of our Gilbert office since 2020, even before it became part of the Modern Physical Therapy team. Prior to working at our Gilbert office she served in an administrative role at her church, where she honed her organizational and leadership skills. Noelle is a proud mother of three and thrives on adventure; she especially enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and just about any activity that gets her outdoors.
Heather moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1989 and spent several years relocating around the state for her husband’s work before settling in Gilbert in 2016. She has been a part of our Gilbert office since 2016, even before it became part of the Modern Physical Therapy team. Prior to her career in physical therapy, Heather worked for seven years as an administrative assistant at an assisted living community in Green Valley, Arizona, where she found great fulfillment working with the elderly. She is married and has two grown children. Outside of work, Heather enjoys boating, water sports, and spending quality time with her family.
Nicole is originally from Michigan. She received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University. She later completed her Master’s degree in Sports Health Care from A.T. Still University. Eventually returning to complete her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University. She has been working as a PA in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery for over 13 years now! Nicole has been married to her husband, James, for over 20 years. They have two children, a boy and a girl, as well as a 14 year old mutt named Jellybean.

Pelvic Floor Therapist
Dr. Rinku Bhakta is a passionate and dedicated physical therapist who is eager to help individuals meet their goals towards independence. She especially enjoys treating ailments of the pelvic floor, treating individuals of all genders. She is passionate about teaching patients to advocate for themselves, so they can reach their goals. She loves to look at patients from the “whole”—body, mind, and spirit. Dr. Bhakta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology from University of Arizona, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University, which empowered her to be curious, empathetic, trauma informed, and tenacious in finding the “root of the issue”. She loves to cheer on and empower others in order to reach their goals and have them achieve a better self. When not in the clinic, Dr. Rinku loves to hang out with family, friends, seeking out new happy hours/restaurants, reading, and dancing.
