OVERVIEW

ABOUT PAIN MANAGEMENT

Pain management is all about helping patients get back to living life without constant limitation. Pain is a different thing for everyone. For one person, it is a painful back that never seems to loosen up. For another, it is stiff knees that make it hard to get up or downstairs. Other patients have headaches or muscle pain that may take years to resolve. Whatever the form, pain doesn’t just hurt the body. It changes routines, limits activities, and drains confidence. At Modern Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, pain management is all about treating the cause rather than camouflaging symptoms. Treatment may take the form of designated exercise, stretching, movement drills, or hands-on therapy. For other patients, special treatment such as an injection may come into the picture. Each program is designed uniquely for the individual patient since no two cases are absolutely equal. The end is long-term minimization of symptoms, greater movement, and return to full activity.

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

Appointments can be scheduled by phone or online. Our staff answers questions, explains what happens at the first session, and helps you feel prepared before your visit.

This is our go to place for all physical therapy! We have been coming here for at least 3 years now for my daughter’s sports injuries from dance. They also do imaging so it is a 1 stop clinic. We have been very pleased with the results but what’s set them apart is the staff. They take their time to explain everything to you, take their time with the therapy and treat you like family. We highly recommend them to everyone we know!

Anyone looking for a PT team look no further. I had an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) surgery mid-September. Physical Therapy was recommended after week 4 post surgery. My journey to find the right fit began and ended at Modern Physical Therapy in Gilbert. I was looking for a ‘team’ that would partner with me so I would receive the best, safest and most effective care/results possible knowing that my recovery would not be easy or a quick fix. My treatments began the beginning of October with Ben and Drey who are great listeners, are extremely accomplished with all types of needs and have been an amazing part of my team. Equally as important are the girls who are at the front desk. The girls are first to welcome you, accommodate your schedules while making appts, and answer any questions you may have with insurance etc. I highly recommend Modern PT and their entire team!!

Modern PT is excellent. They are very supportive and really do a good job with therapy. The whole staff is very kind. They take 1 hour and run on time which I really like. I appreciate their treatments. I feel much better after a hard surgery.magnam.

Answering Your Questions

What types of pain can be treated with therapy?

Chiropractic is used to treat chronic pain, arthritis, headache, back andneck complaints, tendons, and postsurgical pain. Patients go to offices with pain that results from ordinary wear and tear. Each patient is individually examined so treatment is tailored to the individual. This renders treatment more effective than treatment that is standardized and applicable to all.

How does therapy help manage pain instead of just covering it up?

Focusing on the cause. Weak muscles are strengthened, stiff joints are freed up, and dysfunctional movement patterns are re-established. Over time, the body works better and the pain disappears of its own accord. This leads to longer sustained relief than relying on drug use alone.

When will I start to feel better?

Patients can notice the changes after a few visits or longer. It depends on the illness and frequency of therapy. Progressing starts with tiny wins like less stiffness or better sleep. These early changes accumulate with time into real changes.

Is pain management safe for seniors?

Yes. Therapy is adjusted to age, comfort level, and overall health. Older patients often benefit from gentle strengthening, balance training, and mobility work. The approach is designed to be safe while still producing meaningful results.

Can therapy help prevent future flare-ups?

Yes. It is not only about addressing symptoms now but halting them from recurrring. Patients are less likely to experience repeated pain with strength and movement. Also, many are discharged home with excercises they can continue at home.

"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."

MODERN MEDICINE
CEO

"When an athlete gets injured, a team of doctors and therapists evaluates them, orders imaging, and decides the best path forward. If surgery is needed, they go straight to surgery; if not, they get condition-specific physical therapy and targeted injections to speed healing. This is the same process pro athletes use to get back on the field quickly—and at Modern, you can access that same level of care for the same cost as any other physical therapy clinic."   - Josh Adams
