OVERVIEW

ABOUT PELVIC FLOOR REHAB
At Modern Medicine Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine of Peoria, AZ, pelvic floor rehab helps people who deal with bladder leaks, pressure, or pain that won’t go away. These muscles are deep within your body’s core. They’re small but do a lot, like support your organs, help with balance, and keep your body steady. When they get weak or tense, problems start showing up. Sometimes it happens after pregnancy or surgery. It can even come from simple things like sitting, lifting, or stress.

First, the expert therapist starts by asking questions and watching how your body moves. They’ll look at how your breathing and posture affect those muscles. Then you’ll work together on a plan. The objective is to teach your body how to move and support itself again. Sessions are quiet, private, and adjusted to what you can handle.

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

You can call (480) 306-6627 or fill out the form to schedule an appointment online. Either way, we’ll answer questions and help you get set for your first visit.

The front office staff, especially Cheri is wonderful to work with and happy to help with your needs. The therapists there have a great team and attitude. They definitely want to see you succeed. Ian has a great bedside manner but really they all do. I would recommend them anytime.

Fantastic results for chronic sciatica after just 3 weeks. Everyone is kind, helpful and meets you where you are at. I’m so grateful to have found Modern PT.

Modern Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine exceeded my expectations. Being able to get the diagnosis through ultrasound on the first visit is so much more efficient in diagnosing and determining the treatment plan. It was amazing to be able to see the collaboration between Dr. Davies, PT Tim Moxie and Ryan with ultrasound. They are all very caring and I am currently receiving outstanding PT through Tim for shoulder pain. They offer additional treatment options as well. The office staff is flexible. I am recommending this office to friends and family.

What Are You Experiencing?

Pain is hard to put into words. You might not have a good sense of what kind of care you need, and that’s OK. What matters is how things are right now. Please fill out this short form to summarize how things are. We will then follow up and take you through what may be causing the pain, as well as what may work as a solution.

SEVERE PAIN

If the pain is severe such that you are unable to deal, don’t wait. Call 911 or go straight to a hospital. Safety is essential, no matter what. That initial action, after which we are able to lend a hand in helping you find longer-term relief.

MODERATE PAIN / DISCOMFORT

Sometimes, pain will keep you from being brought to your knees, but it does disrupt your ability to function in daily life. Perhaps it’s intermittent and stabbing, or maybe it’s just present during the day. Let’s get those details from you, and we’ll do our best to determine what’s causing it.

MINOR PAINS & ACHES

Little aches hurt just as badly. A sore shoulder, stiff knees, or a throbbing ache that shows itself every once in a while can still have its toll. Let us know how you’ve been doing, and we’ll take care of it for you before it grows into something bigger.

Answering Your Questions

Can this therapy help with trouble starting urination?

Yes. That problem often comes from tension in the pelvic muscles. Once they relax and learn to coordinate again, urination becomes easier and less strained.

Is it normal to feel pelvic pressure after standing?

Yes, and therapy helps. We strengthen the muscles that support your organs so they can hold up better during long days.

Does pelvic floor rehab help with pain during exercise?

It can. Many people who feel pain while running or lifting have muscle imbalance or poor coordination. Once we retrain the area, workouts feel smoother.

Can men do pelvic floor therapy?

Yes. Men come in for tightness, leakage, or post-surgery recovery. The sessions are private and focused on function, not discomfort.

Will I be sore afterward?

Maybe a little, like after light exercise. That fades fast. Most people leave feeling looser and more comfortable than when they arrived.

Do I need a referral?

Usually not. You can call Modern Medicine Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine of Peoria, AZ, and schedule directly. If your insurance asks for one, we’ll help confirm that before your appointment.

"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."

MODERN MEDICINE
CEO

"When an athlete gets injured, a team of doctors and therapists evaluates them, orders imaging, and decides the best path forward. If surgery is needed, they go straight to surgery; if not, they get condition-specific physical therapy and targeted injections to speed healing. This is the same process pro athletes use to get back on the field quickly—and at Modern, you can access that same level of care for the same cost as any other physical therapy clinic."   - Josh Adams
