A Milestone Worth Celebrating
You're nearing the end of the first trimester — a milestone worth celebrating.
This week, baby's reflexes are developing, and many foundational systems are now in place.
Your hormones may begin stabilizing a bit, and for some women, symptoms start easing. Others still feel tired or uncomfortable. Pregnancy doesn't follow one timeline.
Baby at Week 12
This week, baby is about the size of a lime. Many of the major organs and body systems that began developing earlier in pregnancy are now formed and continuing to mature.
Baby is beginning to develop reflexes, meaning small movements and responses are becoming more coordinated. Although you cannot feel these movements yet, important growth and development continue every day.
Why You Feel So Different Right Now
As you approach the end of the first trimester, hormone levels may begin to stabilize somewhat. For some women, this means nausea, fatigue, and food aversions start to improve.
For others, symptoms continue well into the second trimester. Both experiences are completely normal. Pregnancy does not follow a single timeline, and every body responds differently.
You may also begin noticing subtle changes in posture, breathing patterns, balance, or how movement feels as your body continues adapting to pregnancy.

Small Things That May Help
Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees if comfort has become harder to find. Small positioning changes can sometimes improve sleep quality and reduce strain on the hips, pelvis, and lower back.
Finding comfortable positions now can help support better rest as your body continues changing throughout pregnancy.
Support During Pregnancy
Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.
