Your Body Is Doing Something Remarkable
Even if you don't feel like yourself right now, your body is doing something remarkable.
This week, baby is beginning to move—even though you can't feel it yet—and important development continues at an incredible pace.
Meanwhile, hormone levels are near their peak. Fatigue, nausea, smell sensitivity, bloating, or feeling emotional can all feel especially intense around now.
Baby at Week 9
This week, baby is about the size of a grape and continues to grow rapidly. Tiny muscles are beginning to develop, allowing baby to make small movements, although they are still far too small for you to feel.
Facial features continue becoming more defined, and important development is occurring throughout the brain, heart, and major organ systems. Every day brings new growth and change.
Why You Feel So Different Right Now
Hormone levels are near their highest point during the first trimester. These hormonal shifts support pregnancy but can also contribute to many of the symptoms women experience around this time.
Fatigue, nausea, food aversions, smell sensitivity, bloating, headaches, and emotional ups and downs are all common during Week 9. If this season feels physically hard, there is a reason.
Your body is investing an extraordinary amount of energy into supporting growth and development, even when that work isn't visible from the outside.

Small Things That May Help
Keep water nearby wherever you are. Small, steady hydration can sometimes help energy levels, headaches, and nausea.
Rather than focusing on drinking large amounts at once, many women find it easier to take frequent sips throughout the day.
Support During Pregnancy
Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.
