Postpartum Week 2

Moving Forward, Not Bouncing Back

Two weeks in. You may be feeling stronger in some moments—and completely depleted in others. That's normal.

Right now, your body is still healing while adjusting to huge hormone shifts, interrupted sleep, feeding demands, and recovery from birth.

If your back hurts, your body feels heavy, or emotions feel close to the surface, you are not alone. Nothing about this season is small.

What Your Body Is Doing Right Now

Two weeks postpartum can feel like a strange combination of progress and exhaustion. Your body is still healing while adapting to the demands of caring for a newborn.

Hormonal shifts, sleep disruption, feeding demands, and physical recovery all require energy. Healing is still very much underway, even if you are beginning to feel a little more like yourself.

Common During Week 2

Fatigue and interrupted sleep
Back, neck, or shoulder discomfort
Emotional ups and downs
Feeling physically depleted
Breast fullness or feeding challenges
Difficulty finding time for yourself
General soreness or stiffness
Feeling overwhelmed by new routines

Small Things That May Help

Take a short walk today if it feels good to your body. Even a trip to the mailbox, around the house, or down the driveway counts.

Gentle movement can help circulation, stiffness, mood, and confidence as you continue recovering.

Support During Postpartum Recovery

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help support healing after birth by addressing recovery, movement, pelvic floor function, core rehabilitation, bladder and bowel concerns, scar mobility, and return to exercise.

Moving Forward

Healing is not measured by productivity.

You do not need to 'bounce back.' You are moving forward.

Recovery is not about returning to who you were before pregnancy. It's about supporting your body through the next phase of healing and strength.
