Week 22 Pregnancy

You Deserve Support

Baby is becoming more active this week, and sleep-wake patterns are beginning to develop.

At the same time, many women begin noticing new physical changes. As posture shifts and hormones continue loosening connective tissue, low back discomfort, pelvic heaviness, or hip tightness sometimes begin showing up around now.

Common? Yes. Something you simply have to 'push through'? Not necessarily. Support exists.

Baby at Week 22

This week, baby is about the size of a papaya and continues growing steadily. Movements are becoming stronger and more coordinated, and sleep-wake cycles are beginning to develop as the nervous system matures.

You may be noticing baby's activity more regularly now. While patterns may still be unpredictable, these movements are an exciting reminder of the growth happening every day.

Why You Feel So Different Right Now

As pregnancy progresses, posture continues shifting and hormones such as relaxin help connective tissues adapt to your changing body. These normal changes can sometimes contribute to low back discomfort, pelvic heaviness, hip tightness, or feeling less comfortable in certain positions.

While these symptoms are common, they are not something you simply have to endure. Learning strategies to support movement, posture, sleep, and daily activities can often make a meaningful difference.

Your body is adapting every day, and support can help that process feel more comfortable.

Common During Week 22

Low back discomfort
Hip tightness
Pelvic heaviness
Changes in sleeping comfort
Feeling baby move regularly
Postural changes
Round ligament discomfort
Increased awareness of body mechanics

Small Things That May Help

Before bed, try slow rib breathing for one minute and place a pillow between your knees to support your hips.

Simple adjustments to breathing and positioning can help reduce tension, improve comfort, and support better rest as your body continues changing.

Support During Pregnancy

Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.

Support Matters

Many women find that learning how to move, sleep, and support their changing body earlier can make pregnancy feel more comfortable later.

You deserve support—not just endurance. Pregnancy asks a lot of your body, and finding strategies that help you feel better is part of caring for yourself and your growing baby.

You do not have to figure it all out alone.
