Week 25 Pregnancy

Helping Strong Bodies Adapt

This week marks an important milestone in baby's development, and growth continues at an incredible pace.

Meanwhile, your changing posture, growing belly, and shifting center of gravity may be asking more of your hips, back, and abdominal muscles.

If you've been thinking, 'Why does my body suddenly feel harder to manage?' — you are not alone. Pregnancy changes movement in ways many women never expect.

Baby at Week 25

This week, baby is about the size of a rutabaga and continues growing steadily. Important development is taking place throughout the lungs, nervous system, and sensory systems as baby becomes stronger and more active.

Movements may feel more noticeable now, and many women begin recognizing patterns of activity throughout the day.

Why You Feel So Different Right Now

As your belly grows, your abdominal muscles naturally lengthen and adapt to make room for your baby. This can change how your core muscles contribute to stability, posture, and movement.

You may notice feeling less stable through your middle, needing more effort during certain activities, or simply feeling different when moving compared to before pregnancy. These changes are common and reflect the body's ongoing adaptation.

Your core is not becoming weaker or disappearing — it is learning how to support a changing body in a completely new way.

Common During Week 25

Feeling less stable through the abdomen
Increased effort with movement
Low back discomfort
Hip tightness
Pelvic pressure
Changes in posture
Feeling baby move regularly
Difficulty finding comfortable positions

Small Things That May Help

Before standing up, try rolling to your side first instead of sitting straight up. Small movement changes can sometimes reduce strain through the abdomen, pelvis, and back.

Learning new movement strategies is not a sign of limitation—it's one way to support your body as it adapts.

Support During Pregnancy

Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.
