Your Body Is Adapting to New Demands
This week, baby is practicing breathing movements while continuing to grow rapidly.
Meanwhile, everyday movement may suddenly feel more awkward or tiring. Getting out of bed, standing up, turning over, or carrying groceries may require more effort than they once did.
If those things feel harder lately, there's a reason. Your core, breathing muscles, and posture are all adapting to new demands.
Baby at Week 32
This week, baby is about the size of a jicama and continues growing quickly. One important milestone is the practice of breathing movements, which help prepare the lungs and respiratory system for life after birth.
Brain development, muscle growth, and weight gain continue as baby becomes stronger and more prepared for the weeks ahead.
Why You Feel So Different Right Now
As your baby grows and space becomes more limited, your body continues adapting how it moves, breathes, and creates stability. The muscles of the core, diaphragm, pelvic floor, and postural system are all working together differently than they did earlier in pregnancy.
Simple daily tasks such as rolling in bed, standing up from a chair, lifting groceries, or getting dressed may feel more awkward, slower, or more demanding than before. These changes are common and reflect the increasing demands of the third trimester.
Your body is not failing. It is adapting to support a growing baby while continuing to carry out everyday life.

Small Things That May Help
When getting out of bed, try rolling to your side first before sitting up. Small movement strategies can sometimes make a big difference.
Using your arms and legs to help you transition positions can reduce strain through the abdomen, pelvis, and back while making movement feel more manageable.
Support During Pregnancy
Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.

Adaptation Is Not Failure
Pregnancy changes how your body moves.
That doesn't mean your body is failing. Every adjustment you make reflects your body's remarkable ability to adapt to new demands while continuing to support your growing baby.
The goal isn't to move exactly as you did before pregnancy. The goal is to support your body as it changes and grows.
