Week 35 Pregnancy

Preparing With Confidence

Baby may be beginning to settle lower, and your body is preparing too.

You may notice more pelvic pressure, low back discomfort, hip tightness, or that familiar 'waddle' showing up. Common? Very.

But discomfort does not always mean something you simply have to tolerate. As birth gets closer, many women begin learning ways to better support movement, comfort, breathing, and labor preparation.

Baby at Week 35

This week, baby is about the size of a honeydew melon and continues gaining weight in preparation for birth. Important development is still taking place, particularly throughout the lungs, brain, and nervous system.

As space becomes more limited, baby may begin settling lower into the pelvis, which can change how movement and pressure feel throughout your body.

Why You Feel So Different Right Now

As your baby grows and may begin moving lower into the pelvis, pressure through the hips, pelvic floor, low back, and abdomen can become more noticeable. Changes in posture and movement patterns often become more apparent during this stage.

You may notice increased pelvic pressure, hip tightness, difficulty walking long distances, or feeling less comfortable during everyday activities. These experiences are common as your body continues preparing for birth.

While discomfort is common, it does not always mean you have to simply tolerate it. There are often ways to support comfort, movement, and function during the final weeks of pregnancy.

Small Things That May Help

Try gentle hip circles while seated or standing today if movement feels good to your body.

Gentle mobility exercises can help reduce stiffness, improve comfort, and increase awareness of how your body is moving as birth approaches.

Support During Pregnancy

Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.
