You're Getting Close
This week, baby continues preparing for life outside the womb while your body begins increasing the hormones involved in labor and birth.
You may notice Braxton Hicks contractions, more pressure, or feeling emotionally ready one day and completely overwhelmed the next.
That's normal. Big transitions bring big feelings.
Baby at Week 36
This week, baby is about the size of a head of romaine lettuce and continues gaining weight while preparing for life outside the womb. The lungs are nearing maturity, and many body systems are getting ready for birth.
As space becomes more limited, movements may feel different than they did earlier in pregnancy, but baby continues growing and preparing for the weeks ahead.
Why You Feel So Different Right Now
As you approach the end of pregnancy, your body begins increasing hormones involved in labor preparation. At the same time, physical demands continue increasing as your baby grows and settles into position.
You may notice more pelvic pressure, Braxton Hicks contractions, fatigue, changes in sleep, or fluctuations in your emotions. Feeling excited one day and overwhelmed the next is incredibly common during this stage.
Both your body and mind are preparing for a major life transition, and that process can look different every day.

Small Things That May Help
Take one minute today to practice slow, relaxed breathing. Learning how to soften tension now may help later too.
Breathing exercises can help improve body awareness, reduce tension, and provide a simple tool you can return to throughout late pregnancy and labor.
Support During Pregnancy
Pregnancy-focused physical therapy is not only for pain. Many women benefit from support with posture, breathing mechanics, movement strategies, pelvic floor awareness, labor preparation, and overall comfort as pregnancy progresses.

Trust and Support
Birth is not about controlling every moment.
It's about trusting your body while having support around you. Preparation is not about perfection—it is about building confidence, understanding your options, and knowing you do not have to do this alone.
And you are already preparing.
