Preparation Can Look Like Rest
By now, pregnancy may feel very real in your body.
Baby continues growing and preparing for birth, while your body is carrying more pressure, more weight, and more physical demand than ever before.
If you feel tired, uncomfortable, emotional, impatient—or all of the above—you're not doing anything wrong. Late pregnancy can feel physically and emotionally intense.
Baby at Week 38
This week, baby continues growing, gaining strength, and preparing for birth. While many major developmental milestones are complete, important growth and maturation continue right up until delivery.
Baby is practicing skills needed after birth while preparing for the transition from life inside the womb to the outside world.
Why You Feel So Different Right Now
At this stage of pregnancy, your body is carrying more physical demand than ever before. Increased pressure through the pelvis, changes in posture, disrupted sleep, and the emotional anticipation of birth can all affect how you feel day to day.
It's common to feel tired, uncomfortable, emotional, impatient, excited, or overwhelmed. Often, several of those emotions can exist at the same time.
These experiences do not mean your body is struggling. They are often signs that both your body and mind are preparing for a major transition.
