Birth Changes the Body. Recovery Deserves Real Care
You’d go to PT after breaking your wrist. You’d go after a shoulder surgery. Physical recovery after something serious isn’t optional, it’s just what healing requires.
Childbirth is serious. The pelvic floor and abdominal wall take real damage whether delivery was vaginal or surgical. But postpartum rehab almost never comes up in those early appointments.
Women go home, rest, assume things will sort themselves out. Weeks turn into months. The leaking continues. The back pain sticks around. Sex is still painful a year later. Scar tissue from a C-section that nobody ever treated.
None of it is dramatic to talk about. All of it affects daily life more than it should.
Common Doesn’t Have To Mean Normal
We hear this from almost every new patient at our Goodyear clinic. A provider told them discomfort or leaking was just what happens after having kids. They accepted it. Then they found us. Most of what they’d been living with was completely addressable. Does any of this sound familiar?

Pain while walking
Pelvic or lower back pain that shows up on normal things.

Fear of Tearing
Real anxiety about what labor will do to your body and what healing on the other side actually looks like.

Safe Workouts
Wanting to keep moving during pregnancy or get back to it after delivery, but not knowing where the line is.

Urinary Leaking
During coughing, jumping, and lifting the car seat.

How The Care Actually Works Here
No cookie-cutter programs. You get assessed and treated based on what’s actually happening. Here’s the general path.

1. Checkup Before Birth
Labor positions, pushing mechanics, and tearing prevention strategies.

2. Rehab Right After Delivery
Early assessment for diastasis recti, scar tissue, and pelvic floor function.

3. Full Recovery
Back to the workouts you want and moving without symptoms deciding things for you.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I've had two kids and never did PT. Is it worth starting now?
Yes. It’s one of the more common situations we see. Symptoms that have been present through multiple pregnancies still respond well to treatment. Starting now is better than waiting for a third pregnancy to make things harder.
What's the difference between a pelvic floor PT and a regular PT?
Pelvic floor physical therapists have additional training specifically in the muscles, connective tissue, and function of the pelvic region. It’s a more specific skill set than general PT, and it makes a significant difference for postpartum and prenatal symptoms.
I don't have pain, just leaking. Does that still count?
It does. Leaking without pain is still a pelvic floor issue worth treating. It usually responds well when addressed directly rather than waiting for it to become something bigger.
How often would I need to come in?
That depends on your eval findings and how long things have been going on. We give you a realistic picture after the first session.
Can my OB refer me, or can I come in on my own?
Both work. Many patients come in directly without a referral. We verify your insurance benefits ahead of time and let you know if anything is needed before you arrive.
