Feel Like Yourself Again

After Birth

The first few months after birth are a blur. Then one day, you come up for air and realize things are not coming back the way you expected. Something in your middle feels loose and disconnected. Clothes fit differently. Getting up off the floor takes a second. At Modern Medicine of Mesa, AZ, we work on diastasis recti, pelvic floor issues, and help you get back to moving without thinking twice about it.

Common Postpartum Problems You Shouldn’t Ignore

A lot of this gets written off as just being postpartum. Some of it fades. Some of it does not and it is not going to without some attention.

Diastasis Recti

A pooch or ridge running down the center of your stomach that does not budge, no matter what you try.

Painful Intimacy

Sex hurts now in ways it did not before. That gets dismissed a lot. It should not be.

Leakage & Urgency

Leaking when you sneeze, jump, or barely make it to the bathroom is not just part of being a mom now.

Common Postpartum Problems You Shouldn’t Ignore

Postpartum recovery isn’t just about waiting 6 weeks. It’s about addressing the signals your body is sending.

Diastasis Recti

That “mummy tummy” or doming in your midline that doesn’t seem to go away with regular crunches.

Painful Intimacy

Pain during intercourse is common postpartum but should not be your new normal. We address the root cause.

Leakage & Urgency

Whether it’s jumping, laughing, or running to the bathroom—leaking shouldn’t hold you back.

How We Help You Recover

No handouts. No generic plan. The first visit is us figuring out how you breathe, how you move, and what your body is managing on a regular Tuesday. Everything builds from that.

Full Assessment

Diastasis, pelvic floor function, scar tissue. We look at all of it.

Customized Rehab

Fills the space between being told you are cleared and actually feeling like yourself again.

Return to Sport

A real progression back to the runs, lifts, or classes you were doing before.

Postpartum Services That Support Real Recovery

C-Section Recovery

Scar tissue that pulls, feels tight, or went numb and stayed that way. That area gets skipped over constantly and it can cause problems for a long time if nothing is done.

Core Integration

Your deep core and pelvic floor stopped working as a team during pregnancy. Getting that back is what takes the strain off your back when you are picking up the baby, the car seat, or the toddler who decided today they cannot walk.

Body Mechanics

How you feed, carry, and haul things around matters a lot more than people realize. We look at all of it and show you small changes that add up.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My youngest is three. Is it too late?
No. This stuff does not expire. We see women years out from their last birth and there is usually still a lot that can be done.
Do I need my OB to send me?
Most of the time, no. If your plan requires a referral, the front desk will sort that out when you call.
I think something might be prolapsed. Should I still come in?
Yes. Prolapse is more common than most people know and there is real work that can be done to improve how things feel and function. We explain everything as we go.
I had a C-section. Can I still do pelvic floor work?
Yes. Pregnancy itself strains the pelvic floor regardless of how the baby came out. The scar work is a separate piece, but usually worth doing too.
What do I wear?
Just normal leggings or pants and a comfy top. You don’t need anything special.
