OVERVIEW

ABOUT PLANTAR FASCIITIS RELIEF

Shoes, ice, and a stretch sheet all work harder once you know exactly what you are treating. Lasting relief starts with confirming what is actually wrong. Plantar fasciitis follows a recognizable pattern: sharp pain under the heel on the first steps after bed or a long sit, easing as you warm up, then returning after hours on your feet. When your pain fits that pattern, we test what keeps reloading the heel, from calf motion to foot strength to a recent jump in standing or walking. When it does not fit, that mismatch matters just as much. Burning, numbness, a sudden pop, or pain without the first-step pattern deserves a fresh exam, and heel pain that does not behave like plantar fasciitis should stop receiving the plantar-fasciitis plan.

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

If you have already tried all three and the pain still cuts your errands short, you have done your part at home. We learn from every attempt you made, because each result narrows what we test first, so bring that history to the exam. We settle the X-ray question early too: most people with heel spurs have no heel pain, so the spur in your report is often a bystander. We treat the finding that matches your symptoms. Then we pair short-term relief with rebuilt foot and calf capacity, with the movement exam, foot and ankle rehab, and in-house diagnostic ultrasound working from one plan.

REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT

Call Modern Medicine of Surprise, AZ at (480) 306-6627 to schedule a focused heel-pain evaluation. Tell us when the pain started, what sets it off, and everything you have already tried. Think back before you come in: did the pain follow a jump in standing, walking, or running? We use that answer as the exam's first lead. You leave with work you can begin at home the same day.

DIAGNOSE

EXAM & IMAGING

We locate the pain precisely, test whether your first steps hurt more than your warmed-up steps, and measure calf motion, foot strength, and your walking. The exam leads at every visit. In-house ultrasound earns a place only when it can settle a specific question, and we name that question before we use it.

TREATMENTS

CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM

Your plan comes from the findings, and we build it at a dose your heel tolerates from day one. First-line care adjusts your standing and walking load, restores calf and plantar-fascia mobility, and rebuilds the foot strength a full day demands. We design the program to avoid surgery whenever possible. A support stays in the plan only while it changes your walking, and the strength work continues alongside it.

FOLLOW UP

WE CALL TO CHECK IN

We follow how your heel responds between visits, so we call to check in. When first steps ease, we progress the load and add the next stage of strength work. When a long day on concrete sets you back, we adjust the dose and talk pacing. You hear the reason behind every change, and the plan moves with your body.

What Are You Experiencing?

You don’t need to know the exact name of what’s going on and most people don’t. What matters is how it feels to you. Use the short form to tell us, even if it’s just “my back hurts when I wake up” or “it feels like a sharp pinch.” Once we see it, we’ll give you a call to talk things over and figure out some next steps together.

SEVERE PAIN

If the pain is so bad you can’t think straight, please stop here and call 911 or go to the hospital. Getting safe is the first step. When you’re ready afterward, we’ll be here to talk about longer-term help.

MODERATE PAIN / DISCOMFORT

This kind of pain might not knock you down, but it makes life harder than it should be. Maybe it’s a stabbing pain when you move a certain way, or maybe it’s a dull ache that just won’t quit. Write it down as best you can. That’s all we need to get started.

MINOR PAINS & ACHES

Little things add up, too. A stiff neck, sore knees, or that nagging twinge you keep brushing off all matter. Share what you’ve been noticing, and we’ll help you keep it from becoming something bigger.

Answering Your Questions

Why did new shoes and stretching not fix my heel pain?

Shoes and stretches help some heels and miss the cause in others. Your relief may depend on calf motion, foot strength, or the daily load on your feet, and a stretch sheet reaches none of those on its own. When self-care stalls, we examine the factors a home routine leaves untouched, and the plan changes from there.

Does a heel spur mean my pain will not go away?

A heel spur can sit on an X-ray without being the reason your heel hurts. Most people who have heel spurs have no heel pain at all. We treat the finding that matches your symptoms, so a spur in the report rarely changes the plan we build for you.

Will you push me toward an injection or surgery?

Rehab carries most of the work at our clinic. Before we recommend any imaging or procedure, we name what it is meant to change and how your rehab will use that change. Every escalation is a decision we make together, with a stated job it has to do.

Should I just rest it until it goes away?

Keeping a tolerable amount of movement preserves the strength your foot needs when normal days resume. So we reduce the load that aggravates your heel while you stay active at a level you handle well, then rebuild from that baseline. Consistency over months is what pays off: the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons reports that more than 90% of people get better within 10 months of beginning simple treatment.

What does the first visit actually settle?

The first visit works through whether your pain truly fits plantar fasciitis, what keeps overloading the heel, and which relief and strength steps come first. You walk out with your first week of work and a clear picture of the visits ahead. Call Modern Medicine of Surprise, AZ at (480) 306-6627 to schedule your evaluation.

MODERN MEDICINE
CEO

"When an athlete gets injured, a team of doctors and therapists evaluates them, orders imaging, and decides the best path forward. If surgery is needed, they go straight to surgery; if not, they get condition-specific physical therapy and targeted injections to speed healing. This is the same process pro athletes use to get back on the field quickly—and at Modern, you can access that same level of care for the same cost as any other physical therapy clinic."   - Josh Adams
