Feel More Supported and Prepared

During Pregnancy

Some of it sneaks up on you. Your hips start aching on a walk you do every day. You find a sleeping position that works and two nights later, it does not work anymore. By the afternoon, you are moving slower than you want to be and you are not even sure why. At Modern Medicine of Tucson, AZ, we help you sort through what is going on and figure out what actually helps.

Pregnancy Changes Your Body. Pain Should Not Run The Show

Most women bring this stuff up and get told the same things. Normal. Expected. Part of the process. Just get through it. That does not help you sleep or get off the couch without planning it out first. Your body is working harder than it ever has, but that is not a good reason to spend months feeling awful. If any of this sounds like your week, it is worth a visit.

Pain while walking

Your back or pelvis hurts when you walk, stand for a stretch, take the stairs, or try to find a comfortable position at night.

Fear of Tearing

You keep thinking about pushing and what recovery on the other side of delivery is actually going to feel like.

Safe Workouts

You want to keep moving, but have not gotten a straight answer on what is still okay for your body right now.

Urinary Leaking

You leak when you sneeze, laugh, cough, or do anything physical.

Pregnancy Changes Your Body. Pain Shouldn’t Take Over

Many women are told that back pain, pelvic pressure, or leaking are “normal.” We are here to tell you: Common does not mean Normal. Do any of these sound familiar?

Pain while walking

Lower back or pelvic pain that slows you down.

Fear of Tearing

Anxiety about birth injuries or recovery.

Safe Workouts

Unsure what exercises are safe for
baby.

Urinary Leaking

Whether it’s sneezing or laughing—leaking
shouldn’t hold you back.

Straight Answers and Care That Puts You First

We listen before anything else. We look at what your body is actually dealing with right now, not a textbook version of pregnancy. Some women come in because pain has started changing how they get through the day. Some want to feel less in the dark going into labor. Some are just trying to stay active without something flaring up every time. We find out what matters and start there.

Support for Every Stage of Pregnancy

Prenatal Wellness

It shows up differently for everyone. Some women feel it in their back. Some in their hips or pelvis. Some just feel that heavy worn out feeling settling in by midmorning and staying put. Pregnancy changes how your body carries weight and handles pressure and movement and it does not always give you much warning. We help you keep moving in ways that make sense for where you are right now.

Birth Preparation

Labor is demanding and it tends to catch people off guard. We work on breathing, pushing, and positions that may help your body do what it needs to do during delivery. No guarantees on how it goes. But going in knowing something is a different experience than going in knowing nothing.

Postpartum Planning

The baby gets most of the planning. Recovery tends to get pieced together as it happens and those first weeks are harder than most people expected. We help you think through how to move with less strain, what to watch for, and when to get checked if something does not feel right.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you work with high risk pregnancies?

We work alongside your medical team. If your pregnancy has been flagged as high risk, let us know when you call and we will make sure the first visit is set up in a way that makes sense for your situation.

What if I have pelvic girdle pain and it has gotten really bad?

Come in. Pelvic girdle pain can get serious and waiting tends to make it harder to manage. The sooner we look at what is driving it the more we can do about it.

I am nervous about pelvic floor work. What does it actually involve?

We go at your pace and nothing happens without you being comfortable with it first. The first visit is mostly about understanding what is going on. We explain everything before we do anything.

What if I have diastasis recti?

It is more common than most people realize and it is worth addressing during pregnancy, not just after. Tell us when you call and we will factor it in from the start.

Can I come in if I am past 36 weeks?

Yes. There is still meaningful work that can be done close to your due date, especially around birth prep and getting your body ready for delivery and recovery.
