OVERVIEW
Neck pain has a way of following you everywhere. You feel it when you check your blind spot. When you look down at your phone. When you wake up and can't turn your head to one side without your whole body pivoting with it. Some of it traces back to one bad night of sleep. A lot of it builds over years of desks, screens, and shoulders rounding forward a little more each season. Whatever started it, the neck ends up stiff, sore, and guarding itself. Our physical therapists dig into what's actually locked up, loosen the joints that stopped moving, and rebuild the muscle that's supposed to hold your head up without strain. The plan fits the neck in front of us, not a chart. Some folks turn a corner quickly. For others, it's a slower climb. The target stays put either way. A neck that moves freely and quits running your day.

A stiff, painful neck doesn't loosen up overnight. At our Chandler clinic, sessions are spaced across several weeks, giving the muscles and joints room to change at a pace that holds.
DIAGNOSE
EXAM & IMAGING
Therapists look at how far your neck turns, where it catches, and what's tight or weak around it. That first read keeps the plan pointed at your neck specifically rather than a generic routine.

I had an outstanding experience over the past several months at the Chandler location after a meniscus repair surgery. Collin is a top notch Physical Therapist, and he seemed to know exactly how far to push me each week. Thanks to him and all of the incredible assistants, I am now back to 100%. If I ever do get injured again and need PT, I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else but here.

I've been in to see Eric and team many times over the past 5 years for a variety of old athlete ailments and they fix me up every time. I go see them before I go to the Dr now. They are simply the best, and unfortunately I'll probably be back in the future 😁

Answering Your Questions
Why does my neck feel worse in the morning?
Often it comes down to sleep position and what the muscles do overnight. A pillow that's too high or too flat leaves the neck cranked in one direction for hours. The evaluation at looks at this, since small changes there sometimes make a real difference.
Can therapy help if my neck pain comes from desk work?
It often can. Long hours at a screen pull the head forward and lock up the upper back, which loads the neck. Therapy works on loosening those tight spots and strengthening what's gone weak, so sitting all day stops feeding the pain.
Do I need a referral before starting?
In many cases, no, though it depends on your insurance. The staff at our Chandler clinic can check your coverage and tell you what's needed before you come in, so there's no guessing.
Is it normal for neck pain to cause headaches?
Yes, that connection is common. Tight muscles and stiff joints at the top of the neck can refer pain up into the head. When that's the pattern, easing the neck often takes the edge off the headaches, too.
How soon should I come in for neck pain?
Sooner tends to be easier than later. A neck that's been stiff and sore for a couple of weeks is usually quicker to settle than one you've pushed through for months. If it's limiting how you move or sleep, that's a good sign it's worth getting looked at.
