OVERVIEW

ABOUT VERTIGO

Vertigo throws you off in a way few things can. The room feels like it’s moving. You turn your head and the floor shifts. Sometimes it happens rolling over in bed, sometimes just getting up too fast. It can make daily things feel harder than they should.

At Get Modern Medicine of East Mesa, AZ, we help patients find balance again. Many cases come from changes inside the inner ear. Others follow an ear infection, concussion, or long hours with limited movement. We use simple, evidence-based therapy to retrain the balance system so you can move without feeling dizzy or off-center.

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

Call the clinic or schedule online. We’ll explain what to expect before your first visit. During your visit, we’ll look at how your body responds to movement and where the dizziness starts.

Recovery takes consistency. Most people start with one or two visits each week. As symptoms fade and balance improves, sessions space out. Some see quick results within a few sessions, others need several weeks. What matters most is tracking progress and giving the body time to adapt.

DIAGNOSE

EXAM & IMAGING

We begin by listening. When did it start? What makes it worse? Do you feel spinning, swaying, or a floating sensation? Then we run gentle tests to see how your eyes and balance react to motion. The neck, shoulders, and posture all play a role, so we check them too.

TREATMENTS

CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM

If inner ear crystals are the issue, we guide you through specific head and body movements that reset them. If balance control is the problem, we teach your brain and eyes to coordinate again. You’ll practice slow head turns, gaze stabilization, and balance drills.

FOLLOW UP

WE CALL TO CHECK IN

We track how often symptoms happen, how long they last, and how your balance holds up with daily activity. As things improve, we reduce visit frequency and focus more on stability work.

I was in chronic pain for 6+ months. I saw three different sports medicine physicians with no answers or relief. I started going to Bloom with the expectation of just managing my pain with dry needling. Eric did a few treatments on my shoulder as I requested but I kept coming back. He took a time out and wanted to make sure that nothing was overlooked, so he did an ultrasound. He found a rotator cuff tear, it was overlooked by other providers. I’m finally getting the right treatments and healing. I’m so so grateful that he took the time. This office is wonderful and you feel like family as soon as you walk through the door.

I started seeing Eric in the middle of last year because of a sudden back spasm injury. As an avid runner I wanted to be treated and be able to get back out there on the road again. Eric and his team gave me the confidence and the tools to have me running in 6 weeks. His knowledge and attention to his patients went far beyond what I have received in a long time at other PT facilities. I am now a healthy runner, I know what it takes to keep my body strong, and I can always visit the team when I need to keep a little tweak or get dialed in before the races.

I had never tried, or even heard of, dry needling before, but after Eric treated my elbow, it magically came around in a matter of weeks, after being tight and sore and painful for months post-surgery. I couldn’t believe it! He then turned his attention to areas of my back, hips and legs, and the impact was similarly fantastic! I can’t say enough about the procedure, and Eric’s expertise in it!… In addition to the dry needling, Eric and Frank have put me through and given me a variety of core and functional exercises to help with my strength and stability…

Answering Your Questions

What does vertigo therapy feel like?

It feels steady and controlled. You might notice a little dizziness during certain movements, but it passes quickly.

How long before I feel better?

That depends on the type of vertigo and how long you’ve had it. Some people improve in two or three visits, others take longer. We’ll track every change together.

Can it come back?

Yes, especially if the inner ear shifts again or if you stop balance training too early. We’ll show you how to manage symptoms if they ever return.

What helps at home?

Move slowly when standing or turning your head. Stay hydrated. Do the simple drills we give you each day. These steps help the body stay balanced between visits.

When should I see a doctor before therapy?

If you have double vision, slurred speech, or sudden hearing loss, visit the ER right away. Those are signs of a medical emergency.

"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."

MODERN MEDICINE
CEO

"When an athlete gets injured, a team of doctors and therapists evaluates them, orders imaging, and decides the best path forward. If surgery is needed, they go straight to surgery; if not, they get condition-specific physical therapy and targeted injections to speed healing. This is the same process pro athletes use to get back on the field quickly—and at Modern, you can access that same level of care for the same cost as any other physical therapy clinic."   - Josh Adams
