Birth Changes the Body. Recovery Deserves Real Care

After knee surgery, you go to PT. After a hip repair, you go to PT. It’s just what recovery requires when something major happens to your body.

Childbirth qualifies. The pelvic floor, abdominal wall, and surrounding tissue take a serious hit regardless of how delivery goes. But postpartum rehab rarely gets recommended.

So women go home and wait for things to improve. Sometimes they do. A lot of the time they don’t. Two years later they’re still leaking when they exercise, still dealing with painful sex, still carrying back pain that never resolved. Scar tissue from a C-section or episiotomy sitting completely untreated.

These things affect real life. How you sleep, move, exercise, and feel. They’re also largely fixable.

Common Doesn’t Have To Mean Normal

Women come into our East Mesa location after being told for months that what they’re experiencing is just part of having kids. That answer gets repeated a lot. It’s also wrong most of the time. Does any of this sound familiar?

Pain while walking

Lower back or pelvic pain that turns up with ordinary tasks like a walk through the parking lot.

Fear of Tearing

Anxiety about what delivery will do to your body and what the recovery period actually looks like.

Safe Workouts

Wanting to stay active during pregnancy or return to exercise after, but genuinely unsure what’s okay right now.

Urinary Leaking

Sneezing, laughing hard, picking something up off the floor. If it’s becoming something you think about ahead of time, that’s worth addressing.

How The Care Actually Works Here

Every person gets a real assessment. Here’s what the process looks like from start to finish.

1. Checkup Before Birth

Pushing positions, laboring mechanics, practical tearing prevention. The prep that most prenatal appointments are too short to get into.

2. Rehab Right After Delivery

We assess early for diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness, and scar tissue. Finding issues soon after delivery makes treatment faster and less complicated.

3. Full Recovery

Back to the workouts you actually want. Getting on the floor with your kid without dreading it. Through a full day without symptoms, running the schedule.

INSURANCE ACCEPTED

Insurance and Costs

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My symptoms are pretty mild. Is PT still worth it?

Usually yes. Mild symptoms are easier to treat than ones that have been building for a year. They also tend to get worse with time, especially with a second pregnancy. Catching things early makes a real difference.

I'm still pregnant. Can I come in now?

Absolutely. Prenatal PT is one of the most underused things we offer. We work on pushing mechanics, labor positioning, and pelvic prep before delivery, which can genuinely affect how labor goes and how fast you recover after.

What if I had a C-section? Do I still need pelvic floor PT?

Yes. C-section recovery involves significant abdominal scar tissue, core disruption, and pelvic floor changes that often go completely unaddressed. The delivery method is different but the rehab need is just as real.

How long does recovery treatment usually take?

It depends on what we find at your evaluation and how long symptoms have been present. Some people feel a significant difference in a handful of sessions. Others need longer. We give you an honest picture after your first visit.

Do I need a referral to get started?

Most people don’t. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be able to come in directly. We check your benefits before your first appointment and let you know exactly what’s needed.
