Feel Like Yourself Again
After Birth
There is a stretch after birth where everyone checks on the baby and nobody really checks on you. Six weeks go by and you are told you are cleared, which is a strange thing to hear when your body still feels like someone else’s. At Modern Medicine of Gilbert, AZ, we focus on diastasis recti, pelvic floor issues, and getting you back to the kind of movement that actually feels good again.

Common Postpartum Problems You Shouldn’t Ignore
The six-week clearance is not the finish line. It is more of a starting point, and most women do not get much direction after that. Your body is still working through things. A lot of what shows up afterward is worth paying attention to.

Diastasis Recti
The gap or visible ridge down the center of your stomach that stays regardless of how many core workouts you try.

Painful Intimacy
Sex feels different in a bad way. It is more common than people admit to out loud, and it is something that can actually be addressed.

Leakage & Urgency
Dribbling when you run after a toddler, laugh too hard, or barely make it to the bathroom. That is not just how things are now.

Common Postpartum Problems You Shouldn’t Ignore
Postpartum recovery isn’t just about waiting 6 weeks. It’s about addressing the signals your body is sending.

Diastasis Recti
That “mummy tummy” or doming in your midline that doesn’t seem to go away with regular crunches.

Painful Intimacy
Pain during intercourse is common postpartum but should not be your new normal. We address the root cause.

Leakage & Urgency
Whether it’s jumping, laughing, or running to the bathroom—leaking shouldn’t hold you back.
How We Help You Recover
We skip the generic handouts. The first visit is mostly us figuring out how you are moving, breathing, and loading your body through a regular day. Once we know that, the plan builds around what you actually do.
Full Assessment
We look at diastasis, pelvic floor function, and how your tissues are healing up.
Customized Rehab
Bridges the space between being told you are fine and actually feeling fine during the things you want to do.
Return to Sport
A steady build back to whatever you were doing before. We meet you where you are and move at a pace your body can handle.
Postpartum Services That Support Real Recovery

C-Section Recovery
Working with scar tissue that feels tight, pulls, or has gone numb. That area can stay weird for a long time if it is not addressed directly.

Core Integration
Reconnecting your deep core with your pelvic floor so they function as a team again. This is what protects your back during basic things like lifting the baby out of the crib.

Body Mechanics
Coaching on feeding positions, babywearing, and getting car seats in and out without your back staging a revolt.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if I just want to check whether I have diastasis?
Fine reason to come in. We can assess it, explain what we are seeing, and tell you whether it actually needs work or not.
I tried postpartum videos online and something feels off. Should I stop?
Get looked at before you keep going. Online programs cannot account for what is going on with your specific body, and some of the standard moves can push things in the wrong direction.
Can I come in if my recovery has been rough?
Yes. Tell us what has been going on when you call, so we can set the first visit up in a way that fits where you are. We do not rush anything.
What if I feel okay, but I want to make sure before getting back to the gym?
Good reason to come in. A return to activity check can catch things that are not causing symptoms yet, but could if you jump back in too hard.
Do you work with moms of twins or multiples?
Yes. Carrying multiples puts more demand on the body and recovery tends to take longer. We factor that into the plan.
