Feel Stronger, More Comfortable, and More Ready for Birth

Pregnancy is demanding in ways nobody fully prepares you for. Labor is its own thing entirely. And recovery after delivery gets the least attention of all three. Our physical therapists in Surprise are here for every stage.

What Kind of Support Do You Need Right Now?

Select the stage that fits where you are now.

I’m Pregnant

Pelvic pain that showed up earlier than expected. Back tightness that makes sleeping on either side miserable. Not knowing what exercise is still reasonable. We work through all of it, including birth prep and pushing mechanics that standard appointments rarely cover.

Birth Changes the Body. Recovery Deserves Real Care

Break a bone and you get a cast, then PT. Surgery means rehab. That’s just how recovery from something serious works.

Childbirth is serious. The pelvic floor and abdominal wall take significant strain every time, vaginal or surgical, first baby or third. But postpartum rehab barely registers as a recommendation.

Women go home. Rest. Figure things will sort out. A lot of times they don’t. The leaking keeps happening. The back never fully settles. Pain during sex that started after delivery and never left. A C-section scar that pulls when they move and was never once treated.

Months turn into years. Most of it was fixable the whole time.

Common Doesn’t Have To Mean Normal

We hear this constantly from patients who come into our Surprise clinic. A doctor told them their symptoms were just part of motherhood. They believed it longer than they should have. Most of what they brought in was very treatable. Does any of this sound familiar?

Pain while walking

Low back or pelvic pain that turns everyday things into a project. Getting through a Target run. Standing at the park. Walking from the parking lot.

Fear of Tearing

Worry about what labor will physically do to your body and what real recovery looks like on the other side.

Safe Workouts

Wanting to keep moving during pregnancy or return to it after delivery, but genuinely unsure where the line is.

Urinary Leaking

A big sneeze, a jump, laughing too hard. Small things that are starting to feel like something to plan around.

How The Care Actually Works Here

You get a proper assessment from day one. Here’s what the process looks like.

1. Checkup Before Birth

Pushing positions, labor mechanics, tearing risk. The practical prep that most prenatal appointments run out of time for.

2. Rehab Right After Delivery

Early assessment for diastasis recti, pelvic floor function, and scar tissue. Catching things early keeps treatment from getting complicated.

3. Full Recovery

Back to workouts you actually care about through a full day without symptoms quietly making decisions for you.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My baby is four months old, and I still feel off. Is that normal?
Feeling off at four months postpartum is common but not something to just accept. It usually means something specific is still not functioning the way it should. An assessment gives you a clear answer instead of more waiting.
I only leak when I exercise hard. Does that count?
It does. Leaking with high intensity movement is a pelvic floor issue the same as any other kind. It tends to stay or worsen without treatment. A few targeted sessions can often resolve it.
What happens if PT isn't what I actually need?
We tell you. If your eval points somewhere else, we say so directly and help point you in the right direction. We’re not going to put you through a program that isn’t addressing the real problem.
I'm nervous about the first appointment. What actually happens?
We start by talking. Your delivery, your symptoms, what daily life has felt like. Then a physical assessment at whatever pace you’re comfortable with. Nothing happens without explanation first.
Is it okay to come in during my third trimester?
Yes. Third trimester is actually a great time to start. We work on positioning, pelvic prep, and pushing mechanics before delivery so your body is as ready as it can be going in.
