OVERVIEW

ABOUT PELVIC FLOOR REHAB
At Modern Medicine Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine of Mesa, AZ, pelvic floor rehab is about getting your body working right again. If you’ve been dealing with leaks, pain, or that constant feeling of pressure, this is where we start fixing it. Those muscles do a lot more than most people think. They help control your bladder, bowel, and core. When they stop working together, it can throw everything off.

During your visit, your therapist spends time figuring out what’s really happening. We look at how you move, how you breathe, and how your muscles respond. From there, we build a plan that fits you. Some people need to strengthen; others need to learn how to relax. It’s calm, private work that helps your body feel normal again.

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

You can call the Mesa office or book online. We’ll walk you through what to expect and help you plan your first visit.

SCHEDULE

REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT

Most patients start once a week. As symptoms ease, visits spread out. You’ll go at a pace your body can handle.

DIAGNOSE

EXAM & IMAGING

We start by checking movement, posture, and muscle response. This shows where things are too tight or not firing well. Once we know that, we plan your treatment.

TREATMENTS

CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM

Sessions are quiet and focused. Some are about relaxing tight muscles. Others are about retraining weak ones. You’ll learn how to move, breathe, and build support at home too.

This place is great! They offer ultrasound to diagnose. After my ultrasound they set me up with a plan to get better. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend going here!

I had awesome physical therapy at Modern PT. After tearing my bicep tendon, I needed help and I got it. It is easy to schedule appointments and always on time. Amber, scheduling, Taylor, PT and Nathan…

Modern Physical therapy helped me so much and I would recommend them to anyone who needs Physical therapy. I had a sharp pain in my right hip. The first visit, after having a detailed conversation and assessment, including an ultrasound to really see what the problem is, Brianne was able to focus on the exact area. I had 12 sessions and I am feeling so much better. My right hip doesn’t have the sharp pain it had previously. She gave me a home exercise program to continue doing on my own so I can continue strengthening the muscles I need to so this problem doesn’t happen again. The staff is so kind and friendly – I always felt comfortable there and cared about!

What Are You Experiencing?

Pain is difficult to articulate, and you don’t need to have the “right” words. Just tell us how you have been feeling it. Use the brief form to tell us in your own words like sharp, dull, or won’t stop. We will then contact you so that we can talk a little bit about what might be happening and how we may be able to help.

SEVERE PAIN

If the pain is intolerable, don’t wait. Call 911 or go straight to the hospital. Safety is foremost. Then, after addressing that, we’ll be able to assist you in the next steps toward comfort.

MODERATE PAIN / DISCOMFORT

This kind of pain is not going to keep you from doing things, but it makes daily life difficult. Maybe it hits in bursts, maybe it is always there. Attribute it to the best of your ability. That’s all we need in order to start to understand what is happening.

MINOR PAINS & ACHES

Even small aches matter. That morning stiffness in your lower back, muscle aches in your legs after a day, or that pesky spot you’ve been ignoring. Those are things we want to talk about. Tell us what you’ve been feeling, and we’ll do our best to get ahead of it.

Answering Your Questions

What if my pelvic issues started years ago?
That’s okay. It doesn’t matter how long it’s been. These muscles can still respond. The key is steady, guided practice.
Can this help if I feel pain when I walk or bend?
Yes. The pelvic floor connects with your hips and lower back. When it’s out of sync, even small movements hurt. Once we restore control, movement gets easier.
Will I be sore after sessions?
A little, sometimes. It’s more of a tired feeling than real pain. Most people feel looser after treatment, not worse.
Can it help after pelvic or abdominal surgery?
Yes. Scar tissue and muscle changes from surgery often limit movement. Therapy helps rebuild coordination and flexibility safely.
What if I feel anxious about starting?
You’re not the only one. It’s a private setting, and your therapist explains every step before doing anything. Nothing happens without your okay.
Do I need a referral?
Usually not. You can schedule directly with Modern Medicine Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine of Mesa, AZ. If your insurance requires one, our staff will check that for you.

"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."

Josh Adams

MODERN MEDICINE
CEO

"When an athlete gets injured, a team of doctors and therapists evaluates them, orders imaging, and decides the best path forward. If surgery is needed, they go straight to surgery; if not, they get condition-specific physical therapy and targeted injections to speed healing. This is the same process pro athletes use to get back on the field quickly—and at Modern, you can access that same level of care for the same cost as any other physical therapy clinic."   - Josh Adams
