OVERVIEW
ABOUT OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational therapy is about the small tasks that quietly turn difficult. Working a button through its hole. Twisting open a jar. Holding a fork steady through dinner. Typing long enough to finish an email before your hand quits. Nobody thinks about these things until one of them stops being easy, and then it's all you notice. Our occupational therapists go right at that. They figure out where your day keeps snagging, track down what's behind it, and rebuild the strength, coordination, and practical know-how to put those tasks back in your hands.

Office was very welcoming from the moment you walked into the office, Marissa and Kelsey were there to greet me. They know all of their patients and treat them like family. Dr. Dault was AMAZING. SHE listened and really searched to find the answers to my pain. Eric was very thorough when doing my ultrasound to diagnose my issue. Their recommendations helped me and in the end my pain decreased! Thank you to the entire team!

I was in a pretty dark place before starting at the Chandler location. My low back pain was completely debilitating and affecting the quality of my life for many years. I saw Phil once a week for 6 weeks and feel stronger and more confident than I have in many, many years. Phil explained the results of my MRI in great detail and answered my questions (as trivial as they might have been) with respect and understanding... I have been to many physical therapists before and the results I got here were the best. I highly recommend the Chandler location and will go back again if I ever need to!

Where do I start with the praise for this Team of miracle workers... I had suffered from chronic lower back pain for the last 8 years due to 32 years of golf and upper back pain due to 13 years of sitting at a desk. I utilized a chiropractor for the past 7 years but the pain ALWAYS came back and I NEVER got better. One visit with Dr. Josh and two X-rays showed the problem was stemming from my foot and a collapsing arch—which my previous chiropractor NEVER took the time to explore and diagnose.

Answering Your Questions
Who actually benefits from occupational therapy?
A wide mix of people. Some come in after hand or wrist surgery, some with arthritis that's made daily tasks tough, some with nerve trouble affecting grip, and some recovering coordination after a stroke or injury.
How does this differ from physical therapy?
The focus splits them. Physical therapy works on movement, strength, and getting around. Occupational therapy zeroes in on the daily tasks themselves, like dressing, cooking, writing, and managing your job. When both apply, the two often run side by side.
Can it help with hand arthritis?
Yes, that's a common reason people come in. Therapy works on keeping the joints moving, building grip where it's faded, and finding easier ways through the tasks arthritis made painful. The goal is keeping your hands useful for everyday life.
Will it help me get back to work?
Often, yes. Plenty of people come in because an injury or condition made their job tasks hard to handle. The therapist looks at what your work actually demands and builds the plan around getting you back to it without stirring the problem up again.
What will I work on between visits?
Quite a bit, since a lot of progress happens at home. The therapist usually sends you off with simple exercises or task practice to build on what you did in the clinic. At our Northwest Tucson clinic, that home piece is a big part of what keeps things moving.
"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."
