OVERVIEW
ABOUT PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical therapy is not just about pain. It is about getting back the things that quietly slipped away without anyone deciding they should.
Walking through a parking lot without the hip tightening up halfway. Reaching into a cabinet without bracing for what might happen. Sleeping through the night instead of waking up hunting for a position that does not hurt. These are the things patients in Northwest Tucson notice first.
No two plans look the same. Someone three weeks out of shoulder surgery has nothing in common with someone who has been grinding through chronic knee pain for two years. Some people move fast. Others need more time. The pace follows what the body can actually handle.
BOOKING APPOINTMENTS
Call to speak with someone directly or book online when that fits better. Either way, the team confirms the visit and walks through what to expect, so showing up the first time does not feel like stepping into the unknown.

Most patients come in weekly. At Modern Medicine of Northwest Tucson, AZ, that spacing gives progress room to build without pushing tissue faster than it can keep up with.
DIAGNOSE
EXAM & IMAGING
Your therapist looks at how you move, digs into the history, and figures out where symptoms are actually coming from. Not a guess based on where it hurts. A real picture of what is behind it.
TREATMENTS
CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM
Manual therapy, targeted exercise, soft tissue work, dry needling. What gets used depends on what the assessment found. Each session adjusts based on what the body did since the last one, not a plan written on day one that never gets questioned.
FOLLOW UP
WE CALL TO CHECK IN
Progress gets tracked and the plan shifts as things improve. Sessions stay pointed at what still needs work rather than running through the same routine the body stopped needing weeks ago.

Office was very welcoming from the moment you walked into the office, Marissa and Kelsey were there to greet me. They know all of their patients and treat them like family. Dr. Dault was AMAZING. SHE listened and really searched to find the answers to my pain. Eric was very thorough when doing my ultrasound to diagnose my issue. Their recommendations helped me and in the end my pain decreased! Thank you to the entire team!

I was in a pretty dark place before starting at the Chandler location. My low back pain was completely debilitating and affecting the quality of my life for many years. I saw Phil once a week for 6 weeks and feel stronger and more confident than I have in many, many years. Phil explained the results of my MRI in great detail and answered my questions (as trivial as they might have been) with respect and understanding... I have been to many physical therapists before and the results I got here were the best. I highly recommend the Chandler location and will go back again if I ever need to!

Where do I start with the praise for this Team of miracle workers... I had suffered from chronic lower back pain for the last 8 years due to 32 years of golf and upper back pain due to 13 years of sitting at a desk. I utilized a chiropractor for the past 7 years but the pain ALWAYS came back and I NEVER got better. One visit with Dr. Josh and two X-rays showed the problem was stemming from my foot and a collapsing arch—which my previous chiropractor NEVER took the time to explore and diagnose.

What Are You Experiencing?
You may not know specifically what type of treatment you would require. What you do know is that you hurt, and right now that’s really what is most important. To better know how to serve you, please take a few minutes to fill out this brief form describing the discomfort or pain you are experiencing. With a clearer idea, we will contact you to discuss what may be occurring and how we may be able to assist.
LOW HIGH
SEVERE PAIN
If you are experiencing severe pain that is not intolerable, don’t wait. Call 911 or proceed directly to your nearby hospital. When the emergency is treated, we will then be prepared to work together to assist you in gaining longer-term relief.
MODERATE PAIN / DISCOMFORT
Maybe your pain isn’t keeping you back, but it is making daily living a bit harder than it has to be. If it’s sharp, annoying, or keeps coming back, let us know what you’re dealing with. We can start together to investigate why it’s happening and how we can make it better.
MINOR PAINS & ACHES
Minor aches may not seem significant, but sometimes they are your body’s way of telling you it needs a helping hand. The stiffness, soreness, or occasional pains are great things to bring to our attention. Let us know what you’ve been experiencing, and we’ll point you in the direction of care that prevents small issues from turning into large ones.

Answering Your Questions
What kinds of patients come in for physical therapy?
Honestly, all kinds. Post-surgical patients, athletes, adults who have been living with the same pain for years, and older patients who just want to stay on their feet and keep moving. The plan gets built around the actual person, not the diagnosis on the referral form.
Can therapy help with back or neck pain that keeps coming back?
Usually yes. Pain that returns on a cycle almost always has something behind it. A movement fault nobody caught, a muscle that stopped pulling its weight, stiffness in one spot forcing something else to pick up the slack. Therapy goes after those things instead of quieting symptoms until they show up again.
How much does missing sessions actually matter?
More than most people want to hear. Recovery builds on itself and a gap breaks that process right when things were starting to stick.
Is there a real difference between therapy in a clinic and doing exercises at home?
A big one. At home, it is easy to avoid the uncomfortable work, miss the fault that is causing the problem, or push something that is not ready. In the clinic, a therapist watches what is happening and adjusts on the spot.
Does physical therapy only help with current pain, or can it prevent future problems too?
Both, and the second part, do not get enough credit. The same work that reduces pain now builds the strength and movement quality that makes the same problem less likely to come back later.
"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."
