Feel Stronger, More Comfortable, and More Ready for Birth

Pregnancy catches most people off guard in ways nobody warned them about. Labor asks even more of the body. And after delivery, most women get a six-week clearance and a handshake while the real recovery work gets left entirely to them. Our physical therapists in Northwest Tucson are here because that gap needs to be filled.

I Have Delivered

The birth is behind you, but the recovery is not close to done. The leaking that has not gone away. A core that does not feel like yours anymore. Scar tissue from a tear or cesarean that got zero mention at discharge. We help you figure out what is actually going on and build a plan around it.

Birth Changes the Body. Recovery Deserves Real Care

Think about it this way. Childbirth puts the body through as much as a major surgical procedure. Nobody skips physical therapy after a knee replacement. Why would recovery after having a baby be any different?

Women who do not get proper postpartum rehab often end up quietly managing symptoms for years. Urinary leakage. Painful scarring from a cesarean or episiotomy. Chronic back pain. Discomfort during sex that nobody warned them about.

Every woman deserves proper rehab after childbirth, regardless of how delivery went. We are here to help you come back stronger than before.

Common After Birth Does Not Mean You Have To Live With It

Women come in after being told leaking or pelvic pain was just part of having children. Some waited over a year before looking for a different answer. Most of what they were dealing with responded well to treatment once someone actually looked at it properly. Does any of this sound familiar?

Pain while walking

Hips, pelvis, or low back aching through ordinary tasks.

Fear of Tearing

Anxiety about labor and what healing looks like after.

Safe Workouts

Wanting to stay active but unsure where the limit is.

Urinary Leaking

Laughing, sneezing, or lifting triggers leaks you manage around.

A Better Recovery Plan For Every Stage

A real assessment from the start. No generic handouts handed over without context. Here is how it goes.

1. Checkup Before Birth

Labor mechanics, pushing strategies, breathing, and tearing prevention. The prep that gets left out when prenatal appointments run short.

2. Rehab Right After Delivery

Early assessment for diastasis recti, pelvic floor function, and scar tissue from tearing or cesarean incision. Earlier means less to untangle later.

3. Full Recovery

Back to the movement and exercise that matters. Getting through a full day without symptoms running the show.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I am only a few weeks postpartum. Is it too early to come in?
Earlier almost always means a simpler recovery. There is no waiting period and getting started before symptoms settle in makes everything more straightforward.
I had a cesarean. Does pelvic floor therapy still apply to me?

Yes. A cesarean affects the abdominal wall, core, and incision site in ways that directly impact recovery. The scar tissue alone is worth addressing, even when obvious pelvic symptoms are not present.

My symptoms have been around for over a year. Have I missed the window?

No. Symptoms that have been present for a long time often still respond well once the actual cause gets properly identified. How long something has been going on does not close the door on improvement.

I was told this is just what happens after having kids. Is that true?

Common is not the same as permanent. Leaking, pelvic pain, and core dysfunction are things a lot of women deal with. They are also things that respond well to the right care. Getting a second opinion is always reasonable.

What if my symptoms do not feel severe enough to come in for?

If they are changing how you move, interrupting sleep, or making you quietly work around daily life, that is enough. You do not need to be in significant pain or dealing with severe leaking to benefit from being seen.
