OVERVIEW
Balance problems can sneak up on you. It can hit when you stand up and feel a sway. You turn in the kitchen and grab the counter. You step off a curb, and your foot does not land where you expected. One close call can make you tense the next time you walk through the same spot.
Falls are not just “getting older.” Weak hips, slow reactions, vision changes, inner ear issues, and foot pain can all play a role. At Modern Medicine of Surprise, AZ, we help you build steadier steps and better confidence. The goal is simple. You should feel safer moving around your home and out in the community.

Most people start with one or two visits each week. Early sessions stay gentle and focus on safety and basic control. As you feel steadier, visits spread out and the drills match your daily routine.
DIAGNOSE
EXAM & IMAGING
We look for the reason balance feels off. We check how you walk, turn, and stand from a chair. We also look at leg strength, foot and ankle control, and how your eyes and head handle movement.
TREATMENTS
CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM
Treatment focuses on real world tasks. We practice steady standing, safe turning, and controlled steps in different directions. We also work on strength for hips and legs, plus reaction drills that help you catch yourself sooner.
FOLLOW UP
WE CALL TO CHECK IN
Each visit starts with a quick update on stumbles, near falls, and confidence. We retest key balance items so progress is easy to see. Then we add small challenges like uneven surfaces, faster turns, or carrying light items while walking.

What Are You Experiencing?
You don’t need to know the exact name of what’s going on and most people don’t. What matters is how it feels to you. Use the short form to tell us, even if it’s just “my back hurts when I wake up” or “it feels like a sharp pinch.” Once we see it, we’ll give you a call to talk things over and figure out some next steps together.
LOW HIGH
SEVERE PAIN
If the pain is so bad you can’t think straight, please stop here and call 911 or go to the hospital. Getting safe is the first step. When you’re ready afterward, we’ll be here to talk about longer-term help.
MODERATE PAIN / DISCOMFORT
This kind of pain might not knock you down, but it makes life harder than it should be. Maybe it’s a stabbing pain when you move a certain way, or maybe it’s a dull ache that just won’t quit. Write it down as best you can. That’s all we need to get started.
MINOR PAINS & ACHES
Little things add up, too. A stiff neck, sore knees, or that nagging twinge you keep brushing off all matter. Share what you’ve been noticing, and we’ll help you keep it from becoming something bigger.

Answering Your Questions
I have not fallen, but I feel wobbly. Should I still come in?
Why do I feel worse in the dark or at night?
Your eyes help balance more than you think. When the light is low, your body has to rely on feet and inner ear signals. We train those systems and we share simple home tips for night time safety.
Will you make me do scary balance stuff on day one?
No. We start where you feel safe. We use support like bars, a wall, or a stable surface. We build challenges only when you are ready.
Do I need a cane or walker?
Maybe, maybe not. We look at your safety first. If you need a tool for now, we show you how to use it correctly, then we work on strength and control so you rely on it less.
What can I do at home today that helps?
Stand up from a chair a few times with control, then take a short walk in a clear hallway. Wear shoes with a good grip and keep pathways clear.
"Our goal is to help you solve some of your most painful life experiences."
