OVERVIEW
ABOUT PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical therapy is about getting people moving again when pain or stiffness has been running the show. Some arrive after surgery because they can’t strength their way back. Others arrive with arthritis or an injury that puts them years back. Plenty of patients simply feel weaker, stiffer, and less coordinated than previously. Reality is that those things don’t go away, and change habits. You don’t walk quite so far any longer, you don’t lift, and you second-guess. At Modern Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, treatment is never cookie-cutter. Strength sessions. Stretching sessions. Balance sessions. Hands-on care sessions. The combination is based on what is put before the therapist. For some patients, the change is quick; others take their time over weeks. Both are common. It is about steady improvement, making everyday life easy once more.
BOOKING APPOINTMENTS
Appointments are easy to set up by phone or online. Staff explain what to bring, what happens on the first day, and answer whatever questions you’ve got, so you don’t feel unprepared.

SCHEDULE
REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT
Therapy takes more than one session. A lot of the time, it’s weekly visits over several weeks, giving the body time to adapt without being pushed too hard.
DIAGNOSE
EXAM & IMAGING
The first visit is an evaluation. Checking movement, flexibility, and strength. That’s how the therapist figures out what’s behind the problem instead of just guessing.
TREATMENTS
CUSTOM TREATMENT PROGRAM
Treatment might be exercise, mobility drills, stretching, or manual therapy. It shifts each session based on how the body responds.

This is our go to place for all physical therapy! We have been coming here for at least 3 years now for my daughter’s sports injuries from dance. They also do imaging so it is a 1 stop clinic. We have been very pleased with the results but what’s set them apart is the staff. They take their time to explain everything to you, take their time with the therapy and treat you like family. We highly recommend them to everyone we know!

Anyone looking for a PT team look no further. I had an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) surgery mid-September. Physical Therapy was recommended after week 4 post surgery. My journey to find the right fit began and ended at Modern Physical Therapy in Gilbert. I was looking for a ‘team’ that would partner with me so I would receive the best, safest and most effective care/results possible knowing that my recovery would not be easy or a quick fix. My treatments began the beginning of October with Ben and Drey who are great listeners, are extremely accomplished with all types of needs and have been an amazing part of my team. Equally as important are the girls who are at the front desk. The girls are first to welcome you, accommodate your schedules while making appts, and answer any questions you may have with insurance etc. I highly recommend Modern PT and their entire team!!

Modern PT is excellent. They are very supportive and really do a good job with therapy. The whole staff is very kind. They take 1 hour and run on time which I really like. I appreciate their treatments. I feel much better after a hard surgery.magnam.

Answering Your Questions
What kinds of problems can therapy help with?
Lots. Surgery recovery, arthritis, chronic pain, sports injuries, weakness, and balance problems. Every plan looks different depending on the patient. That’s why therapy can help such a wide range of people.
How does therapy reduce pain?
It works by fixing the cause, not covering it up. Weak muscles are built up. Tight joints are loosened. Movement patterns are corrected. Over time, the body moves better and the pain fades. Many patients say they use less medication once therapy is consistent.
When will I see results?
It varies. Some feel lighter after a series of visits. Others take weeks before they feel a noticeable difference. Improvement often announces itself first in small steps: sleeping longer, walking further without discomfort, and feeling looser when first rising. All those small wins add up to bigger changes.
Is it safe for seniors?
Yes. It is customized based on medical conditions, comfort level, and age. For older patients, it can be gentle strengthening, light stretching, or balancing. It is aimed at sustaining their protection and concurrently making gradual improvements. Numerous individuals achieve increased independence once therapy has started.
Can it stop injuries from happening again?
Often yes. By strengthening and mobilizing, the body is better at fighting stress and is less prone to breaking down. Patients usually leave with home exercises that can be repeated at home. That way, the gain doesn’t go away after the clinic visits are done.
